Alpacas for Sale & Breeding in Wisconsin

Hello and welcome to Rocky Land Alpacas.

Like many others, we have been asked, “What are Alpacas? What are they used for?” We have also been asked how we got started with our Alpacas.

First, a little about Bill and myself. For many years we were Dairy Farmers. After we quit Dairy Farming, we soon realized how much we missed working with our animals. As the old saying goes, “You can take the boy out of the country but you can’t take the country out of the boy.” Well, we didn’t leave the country but we really wanted to start a different lifestyle. We found that Murphy and Laddie, our dogs and Duffy, our cat, just weren’t enough!!!

As we were watching television one evening, there was an advertisement about Alpacas and as they say, the rest is history.

We found out that you don’t have to start with a large herd. We started with one bred female and a gelded male, for company. This female gave us our first little girl. We were so excited. Three years later we bought another bred female, a maiden female and a male who is now ready for service.

We now have five females for breeding and two males for service and four babies.

The Alpaca fleece is very soft. It is used for mittens, scarves, hats, socks etc. and is very warm. As a matter of fact the Alpacas fleece is so warm they prefer to lie outside in the winter even though they have buildings to go into.

You can see from the pictures how cute they are and it so much fun watching the little ones run and play.

So if you’re looking for an investment that you can actually touch and love, Alpacas may be for you.

Please continue to look at our website and see our Alpaca “family”.
